Submitting a WhatsApp chat as an appendix (נספח)
An appendix should be easy to cite and easy to check. A chat pasted in as screenshots is neither.
To submit a WhatsApp chat as an appendix, produce a PDF of the relevant part of the chat with the appendix label (for example נספח א') and running page numbers on every page, preceded by a cover page that states what the appendix contains: the chat, the participants, the date range and the source file. Nispach builds exactly that from the WhatsApp export, adds the SHA-256 hash of the source file to the cover page, and lists media in an index. The PDF is then attached to the pleading or affidavit and referenced like any other appendix.
What a good chat appendix contains
- A cover page with the appendix label, the chat name, the participants, the date range included, and the source file name and hash.
- Every message in the range, each with date, time and sender.
- The appendix label and a page number on every page, so the pleading can cite "Appendix C, page 7".
- Media handled consistently: photos as thumbnails, other files listed in an index with their names and times.
Setting the label
Offices label appendices differently: נספח א', נספח 1, נספח ת/3. Type the label once and it appears on the cover and on every page. The Office plan saves your format so every appendix from the office looks the same.
One chat, several appendices
Sometimes one chat supports several claims, each in its own appendix. Export the same chat several times with different date ranges or senders, each with its own label. Every cover page states its own range, so the relationship between them is clear.
When the appendix is too large
A chat with many photos can pass Net HaMishpat's 30MB file limit. Nispach splits it into parts at page breaks, labelled as parts of the same appendix. See staying under the 30MB limit.
Turn the export into an appendix
Drop in the WhatsApp export and preview the first three pages for free. The chat stays on your computer.

FAQ
Can I use Arabic or English labels?
Yes. The label is free text, such as ملحق 1 or Appendix A, and the layout follows the language of the chat.
Does the page numbering continue across split parts?
Yes. Page numbers run continuously across the parts of one appendix.
Can the cover page be left out?
Yes, but it is recommended: it states the range and source of the appendix in one place.
